STEWARDSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Each of you must give as you have made
up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God
loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with
every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough
of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:7-8
Not only does our church depend on its members attending
worship services, serving on committees and volunteering for
activities, the church depends on members' financial stewardship
from annual pledges, fund-raising and gifts. Every year a
careful budget is presented to the congregation with hopes
that pledges, fund-raising and gifts, along with interest
generated by the church's financial investment portfolio
will bring a balanced budget. While your yearly pledge contributes
to the work of our church, THERE ARE OTHER WAYS TO PARTICIPATE.
Please consider the following:
OPERATING THE CHURCH COSTS $1,100 EACH AND EVERY DAY.
Some of our costs are as follows:
The heating/cooling systems cost $75 each and every day.
Turning the power on costs $25 each and every day.
Office supplies and postage cost $36 each and very day.
Our Saturday evening service costs $100 each week.
We ask you to please participate in as many church events
as possible for fellowship, fun and fund-raising and encourage
friends, neighbors and family to also participate.
Your attendance at a Pancake Breakfast contributes $1 per
meal.
Your attendance at a Music Concert contributes from $1 to
$5 (or more!).
Your attendance during the Harwich Port Music strolls and
Christmas Stroll contributes $1-2 if you buy a hot dog, chili,
soda or popcorn.
Any attendance at any special event such as the Homes Tour,
Cabaret, Rummage Sale, Church Fair, Cookie Stroll, Golf Outing
contributes $$$$.
Donating directly from your IRA saves your taxes.
Consider purchasing a memorial in our Memorial Garden.
Celebrate your special BIG birthday with the same dollar amount
to the church.
Lighting the steeple brings in $5 each and every donation.
There are many more ways to help Pilgrim Church! Perhaps
you would like to donate to a special "category."
Sponsor a "Day in the Life of Pilgrim Church"
by donating $1,100.
Sponsor a utility bill for one week by donating $700.
Sponsor a utility bill for one day by donating $100.
Sponsor the music for a Saturday evening service by donating
$100.
Sponsor the Nursery Coordinator for one week by donating $32.
Contribute office supplies by donating to the church office
from $1 - $25 - $100.
Contribute a roll of "Forever" stamps to the church
office for $44.
Children could contribute $1.50 for a gallon of gas to cut
the grass.
Children could contribute $2.00 for one light bulb for a year.
Without the past generosity of Pilgrim Church members and
friends and the many hours devoted to church activities and
functions, we might not have our fine facilities, programs
and missions. Our ability to continue providing these benefits
to our members, friends and community depend upon the increased
commitment of stewardship by each member for Pilgrim Church
to be a vibrant, healthy church.
So let us not grow weary in doing what
is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give
up. So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work
for the good of all, and especially for those of the family
of faith.
