Additional programs include two fellowship opportunities, Pilgrim Women's Fellowship and Pilgrim's Men's Club.
Pilgrim Women's Fellowship
For Pilgrim's church women, April 19, 1995 is a very important date. Members from the church's Dorcas Society and the Pilgrim Service League voted to unite into one organization ... Pilgrim Women's Fellowship. The Dorcas Society was founded in November 1854 and Pilgrim Service League was founded in November 1944. The heritage from these two organizations gives PWF a firm foundation upon which to build.
The stated purpose of the organization is to unite the women of the parish and community in a program of fellowship, worship, education and service and to support the programs of Pilgrim Congregational Church as it serves the cause of Christ in the community and throughout the world.
Regular meetings are held every month from September through May and programs are designed to educate and entertain members and guests. Through fund raising efforts the Pilgrim Women's Fellowship is able to support many benevolences.
Pilgrim's Men's Club
Pilgrim's Men's Club was organized in 1948 (although it has a history going back to 1910) for "good fellowship and service throughout the community." The Men's Club provides the men of the church with an opportunity to meet socially and participate in a variety of projects for the benefit of the church. Principle among these projects in the past few years has been the weekly Saturday summer pancake breakfasts, which offers a reasonably priced breakfast to families vacationing in our community. These breakfasts have become an important fundraiser for the church.
The Club, besides maintaining the outside grounds with a full contingent of volunteers for a fall and spring clean-up, recently replaced the outside storage shed, purchased office equipment and installed window air-conditioners for the kitchen.
Meetings are held informally. All interested men are welcome to participate in the club's activities.
